Although I usually focus on deep dives, I've decided to compile some of the most interesting recent fashion updates to keep you abreast of the developments in the dynamic space.
Here's what's happened in the past few weeks:
NFT Drops
Adidas Launches an NFT-Inspired Physical Collection
Adidas introduces an NFT-inspired physical collection Indigo Herz Pack. The collection features shoes, pants and hoodies inspired by Adidas’ Bored Ape, Indigo Hertz. ALTS holders will have priority access to an Indigo Herz Pack. I covered Adidas’ new Web3 strategy in detail here.
Hugo Boss Launches NFC-Enabled Baseball Caps
Hugo Boss has launched physical NFC-enabled baseball caps using Imaginary Ones IP. The caps give holders access to digital versions of the wearables and Ready Player Me avatars via the NFC tag. The caps have several similarities with the 9dcc Iteration-03 caps launched in March.
Doodles Collaborates With Pharell’s BBC ICECREAM Brand
Doodles will collaborate with Pharell’s luxury streetwear brand BBC ICECREAM. The collaboration will be in the form of a pop-up at the Something in the Water (SITW) music festival in Virginia Beach. The pop-up will highlight Doodles’ new digital wearables and the exclusive Billionaire Boys Club and Doodles collection.
Moreover, Doodles just revealed new PFP wearables which include collaborations with Adidas, Humanrace and BBC ICECREAM.
Play! Pop! Go! Launches Physical Luxury Garments
The Doodle-esque Play! Pop! Go!, an immersive fashion brand, has introduced physical luxury garments as part of its collection. The first eight pieces have already dropped, with subsequent drops coming in June and July.
PUMA Partners With 10KTF
PUMA will release 2,000 phygital (NFT + physical) sneakers in collaboration with 10KTF. The Mintpass draw participation closes on the 27th of April and you must hold specified 10KTF assets. To redeem the NFT itself you need a Mintpass + a supported NFT. The NFT will have utility in the 10KTF ecosystem. 10KTF has previously partnered with Gucci on the Gucci Grail collection.
More PFP Fashion on the Way
Degen Toonz, a popular NFT brand, recently announced two new partnerships with streetwear brands C’est Bon and Valas LA for its upcoming dynamic PFP wearables via The Closet. The Closet allows holders of Degen Toonz NFTs to customize their characters with digital wearables all on-chain. The Closet is expected to go live later this year. NYX Professional Makeup Brand Launches 3D NFTs
Cosmetic brand NYX Professional Makeup is embracing the NFT trend with its upcoming Dream Vortex NFT collection. The collection is for its beauty DAO, GORJS, will drop in March and will have a supply of 4,150 priced at 0.09 ETH.

Yuga Labs Deepens Its Links to AAA Gaming and Welcomes Its New CTO
Yuga Labs welcomed its new CTO Mike Seavers, a former Executive Vice President of Development at Epic Games. He has led development efforts of Unreal Engine and Fortnite. This comes just weeks after the former Activision Blizzard executive, Daniel Alegre, officially joined Yuga Labs as CEO.
Azuki Expands Into Web2
Chiru Labs, the company behind popular NFT collections, Azuki and BEANZ, has partnered with the South Korean creative studio LINE FRIENDS to collaborate on content, merchandise, retail distribution, IRL activations and more. LINE, the mobile messenger app for which LINE FRIENDS IP was initially created, has an active worldwide user base of 200 million. LINE FRIENDS’ other partners include Netflix, Supercell, Tencent and Big Hit Entertainment.
SYKY Launches Its Collective
SYKY is launching its digital fashion incubator program called the SYKY Collective for a cohort of 10 digital designers. The program will provide a 12-month acceleration with industry-leading mentors and resources to help these designers become leading fashion houses.
Web3 Business Cards Gain Momentum
Sleek, the Hong Kong-based Web3 company, offers personalized NFC-powered business cards that showcase a person's Web3 identity with the tap of a phone. The company has partnered with Binance Smart Chain, DeGods, Solana Foundation and MonkeDAO. Users have generated over 40,000 connections and accumulated 5,000+ active users.
Exclusible Launches Highloop, a Blockchain-Based Tool for NFTs
Exclusible has launched Highloop, a blockchain-based tool that automates the process of creating and distributing digital collectibles (NFTs). Pilot programs have been conducted with Alpine and Shiseido to test this solution. Exclusible is also getting into the growing Web3 CRM space.
AR/VR
Snap Brings Augmented Reality Mirrors to Retail Stores
Snap has implemented augmented reality (AR) mirrors in retail stores, allowing customers to virtually try on products and generate/share content. Retailers like Nike and Men's Wearhouse have already tested this technology.
A Supermodel Goes Virtual
Supermodel Eva Herzigová teamed up with virtual production studio Dimension Studios and agency Unsigned Group to create a cutting-edge, three-dimensional digital twin of herself. This will unlock new modeling opportunities for Herzigová. The virtual model was made via Metahuman Creator by Unreal Engine.
AI
Zalando Unveils ChatGPT-Powered Fashion Assistant
Zalando, a leading European online platform for fashion and lifestyle, is launching a beta version of a fashion assistant powered by ChatGPT. It allows customers to ask questions and navigate Zalando's assortment using their own fashion terms, making the process more intuitive. The first beta version will be available to a selected group of customers in Spring, with support in English and German.
Launch of the First ChatGPT Fashion Stylist
YesPlz is the world’s first virtual personal shopper that lets users communicate in a natural writing style with the virtual stylist. It features a simple plug-and-play integration that retailers can utilize for their existing catalog. There’s currently a waitlist but you can try their live demo. Read this and this if you want to learn how AI can disrupt the fashion industry.
The First AI “Fashion Week”
Maison Meta, a generative AI creative agency, organized the event with support from Revolve on April 20-21st. The event was a competition where participants created fashion designs using AI. However, the designs had to be such that they could be made into physical designs, i.e. not just digital fashion. The top 10 collections were judged by industry experts who will select three winners. 400 designers submitted their work. Interestingly many of them didn’t have an official fashion background.
The winning collections will be produced and sold by Revolve for the real world and the winners are set to develop their own brands via Maison Meta x Revolve AI Fashion Incubator.
The event got mainstream media, including NBC News, riled up.
Zegna Partners with Microsoft for Zegna X
Zegna has partnered with Microsoft to create Zegna X, a digital configurator and AI-powered styling tool that combines Zegna's made-to-measure service with AI capabilities to offer personalized product visualization and recommendations to customers.

Classic Remix: Archive AF1 released from 1982 – 2006 or a unique, custom AF1 with a nostalgic twist
New Wave: A classic archive from 2007 → or an expressive, custom AF1 with a more futuristic twist
What:
NFTs will have utility and give access to the 3D file.
The quantities of the various designs will differ, however, each OF1 box contains a shoe from 1 of 3 overarching categories:
Archive – OG colorways and styles reimagined for the virtual era
Generative – Unique AF1s created through computer-generated trait combinations that have never been seen before
.SWOOSH Studio – Co-created originals from winning designers of the Your Force 1 contest
.SWOOSH is set to launch a marketplace at some point.
DRAUP Launches Digital Couture
Drop Mechanics:
Price: 0.06ETH – 0.4ETH (depending on the garment)
Supply: 648 pieces – different rarities for various garment types
Dates: Launched on April 25th
What:
3D generative digital couture pieces created in collaboration with visual artist Nicolas Sassoon
Creative process
The garments in the collection are treated like digital images, with their unique moiré patterns emerging from their layers.
The collection was crafted using digital tools like Houdini, Marvelous Designer, and Blender, with the moiré pattern used to create visual tension between depth and flatness.
The final component of the collection's creation is a generative production process, which assigns each garment's characteristics algorithmically. Each piece in the collection is tied together by a shared algorithmic thread.
